Patient threatens hospital staff with knife in Sande

An 89-year-old patient threatened hospital staff with a knife at Nordwest Hospital in Sande at about 20:23 on 9 November. He then barricaded himself inside an empty patient room. When staff tried to gain access, the man stabbed through a gap in the door without injuring anyone. Police secured the area and eventually persuaded him to surrender. He was then compulsorily admitted to the hospital's closed ward.
