Man threatens hospital staff with knife in Salzgitter

A 21-year-old man allegedly caused a disturbance in the emergency department of a hospital in Salzgitter on 11 November and verbally threatened staff who were present. He was holding a knife at the time.

Police searched the hospital with a large deployment but did not find him there. Officers located him at about 0:45 a.m. in the Helenenstraße/Kniestedter Straße area. Because a mental health crisis could not be ruled out, he was taken to a specialist clinic. Police said nobody was injured.
