Two men injured during dispute in Hoyerswerda
On 23 July 2025, two men became involved in a dispute following an argument at Lausitzer Platz in Hoyerswerda. A 22-year-old man is alleged to have attacked his 24-year-old opponent with a saw. The older man is alleged to have defended himself with a pocket knife and injured the younger man. Both sustained cut injuries, received hospital treatment and were provisionally detained. The older injured man was released after police measures, while the younger suspect remained in custody overnight and was to be brought before a magistrate. The investigation into dangerous bodily harm is ongoing.
