Man seriously injured in attack with sharp-edged object in Saarbrücken
A 79-year-old man was seriously injured on Sunday in a car park on Saargemünder Straße in the Brebach-Fechingen district of Saarbrücken. Police said he was attacked after returning to his parked vehicle from a bicycle ride and bending into the car. The neck injury is believed to have been caused by a sharp-edged object. The attacker fled towards adjacent woodland, and the injured man was taken to hospital. A 39-year-old man found near the scene was arrested over suspected robbery the previous day. Investigators are still examining whether he is connected to the attack.
