Man threatens churchgoers with knife in Rottenburg

A 30-year-old man allegedly threatened churchgoers with a knife at St Martin's Cathedral in Rottenburg at about 11:30 a.m. on Monday. He is also alleged to have damaged church property.

The man then went to the market square in front of the cathedral, where officers found him. After police told him to put down the knife, he threw it at their feet. He was provisionally detained and allegedly resisted officers and insulted them. Initial investigations found that nobody was injured. Following police measures, the suspect was taken to a specialist clinic.
