Man attacks federal police officers in Rostock with metal shoehorn
A 43-year-old man allegedly physically attacked federal police officers in a car park at Rostock's Südstadt hospital and attempted to injure them with a long metal shoehorn. Police had initially been alerted to a report that a person was threatening people with a machete, but officers said they encountered the man with the metal shoehorn in the car park. Officers used pepper spray, a baton and physical force, restrained him and then provided first aid for an injury he sustained. The federal police officers were unharmed. The man is under investigation on suspicion of attacking law-enforcement officers and was taken for medical treatment before being transferred to another facility.
