Man waves bread knife toward bystanders in Riesa

A 25-year-old man reportedly took a bread knife from his backpack and waved it toward bystanders on Hauptstraße in Riesa on 11 August. According to police, he had previously inflicted a minor injury on himself with the knife. He then continued cycling toward Alexander-Puschkin-Platz while still holding the knife. Officers later stopped him on Bahnhofstraße, prohibited him from continuing his journey and arranged for a blood sample to be taken. He is under investigation for drink-driving and disturbing the peace.
