Pre-trial detention after alleged knife attack
During border checks on the A64 motorway, federal police arrested a 35-year-old man travelling on a coach from Luxembourg in the night before Saturday. A pre-trial detention warrant issued by Hamburg District Court for attempted homicide was outstanding against him. He is strongly suspected of inflicting a stab wound to a victim's neck with a folding knife; the victim's windpipe was reportedly only narrowly missed. Following a court appearance, he was taken to a correctional facility.
