Man arrested after knife attack in Reutlingen

Prosecutors and criminal police are investigating a 58-year-old man on suspicion of attempted homicide following a dispute in an apartment building in Reutlingen. The man allegedly stabbed a 55-year-old acquaintance several times with a knife shortly after 8 p.m. on 22 April, causing life-threatening injuries. The injured man was taken to hospital and underwent emergency surgery; police said he is now out of danger. The suspect called police himself and was arrested without resistance at the scene shortly afterwards. Officers secured the suspected weapon. Police said the accused was heavily intoxicated and had also sustained cuts; he was due to be brought before an investigating judge.
