Woman critically injured in Regensburg stabbing

A 30-year-old woman was critically injured by a knife stab to the abdomen in an apartment in Regensburg's Kasernenviertel district early on 20 July. Investigators said that at about 2 a.m., a verbal dispute with a 68-year-old man had allegedly escalated into a physical confrontation. The woman went to a nearby petrol station and was taken from there to hospital. The suspect was provisionally arrested. A remand judge issued a detention order and the man was taken to a correctional facility. Criminal police are investigating on suspicion of attempted homicide.
