Man attacks federal police officer with broken bottle in Potsdam

A 67-year-old man allegedly attacked a federal police officer with a broken beer bottle at Potsdam central station on 12 January 2025. A bus driver had previously called police because the man refused to leave a night bus. When officers told him to leave, he reached into a bag, took out the bottle and attempted to strike and stab toward an officer's head, according to federal police. The officer evaded the attack and was not injured. The man sustained a minor injury from the glass while officers restrained him. He was released after police measures were completed, and Brandenburg police took over the case.
