On the morning of 1 February, a 25-year-old man allegedly threatened a group of four travellers with a knife in the main hall of Paderborn station. Federal police said he pulled the knife close to the group and handled it in a threatening manner in front of them. The group then left the station hall. Officers located the man near the station and found a one-handed knife in his jacket pocket during a search. He was taken into police custody. Proceedings were initiated on suspicion of making threats, violating weapons law and attempting an assault on law-enforcement officers.
