Shoplifter threatens detective with knife in Paderborn

A 23-year-old man is alleged to have threatened a store detective with a pocketknife at a supermarket on Königsplatz in Paderborn on 23 April. The detective had confronted him after seeing him put a bottle of vodka into his backpack while paying only for an energy drink. While the detective held him until police arrived, the man allegedly resisted physically, pulled a pocketknife and threatened him. Police said nobody was injured. Officers provisionally detained the man.
