Man approaches police officers with a knife in Otter
A 26-year-old man ran towards police officers in Otter/Kleintodtshorn while holding a knife. He had previously threatened family members on private property; they left the house uninjured and alerted police. After attempts to establish contact had failed, the man came out of the house at about 12:35 p.m. Officers fired their weapons, injured him and subdued him. He was taken to hospital after receiving initial medical treatment. Cuxhaven police are investigating the use of firearms.
