A 44-year-old man allegedly threatened passers-by with a knife on Sunday after a theft at a kiosk on Hochheider Weg in Oldenburg. According to police, a kiosk employee had confronted him after he put a can of drink into his pocket without paying for it. When he tried to leave the kiosk and passers-by addressed him, he allegedly threatened them with the knife before fleeing on foot.
Officers found the suspect shortly afterwards in a basement room of a nearby apartment building and arrested him without resistance. During a search, police recovered the stolen goods and a knife. The man also had two outstanding arrest warrants and was taken to a correctional facility after police measures were completed.
