Man confronts police officers with knife in Nuremberg

A larger police operation took place in Nuremberg-Ziegelstein on 9 May after gunshot-like noises were reported from an apartment. While officers were securing the stairwell of an apartment building, a 31-year-old resident opened his door and confronted them while holding a knife. Police provisionally detained him and found a blank-firing gun during a search. A 65-year-old man had earlier been taken into custody in his apartment on suspicion of firing several shots with a blank-firing gun.
