Two men remanded after knife robbery series
Two young men from Rees have been remanded in custody following a series of robberies in Kalkar and Rees. They are suspected of using a knife to rob cash and cigarettes in each of six filling-station robberies and one bakery robbery since October 2024. Police provisionally arrested both men on 29 January after searches in Rees and Kalkar. A judge issued arrest warrants at the prosecution's request, and the suspects were taken to a correctional facility. Investigations are continuing, and the presumption of innocence applies.
