Man injured in knife attack outside supermarket in Neuss
A 40-year-old man was injured in the neck with a knife outside a supermarket in central Neuss on Monday, 12 October 2026. According to the police’s initial findings, a 63-year-old man had asked him for some cash. During the ensuing dispute, the older man allegedly shouted at the 40-year-old, took a knife from his jacket pocket and injured him. The injury was not life-threatening, and the man was treated in hospital. Police arrested the suspect at the scene and took a blood sample because he appeared to be intoxicated. After police procedures and an assessment of grounds for detention, he was released on the prosecutor’s order. Criminal investigators are handling the case.
