Man remanded in custody after knife attack in Münster
Two men were injured by knife stabs following an altercation outside a sports bar at Hamannplatz in Münster-Coerde on 7 September. According to investigators, a 40-year-old accused man first became involved in a dispute with a 62-year-old man and then allegedly stabbed him repeatedly. When two witnesses intervened, he allegedly injured a 74-year-old man with a knife stab.
The 62-year-old suffered several stab wounds, including one that was acutely life-threatening, and underwent surgery the same day. He was later described as stable and responsive; the 74-year-old sustained a non-life-threatening stab wound. The accused was provisionally arrested near the scene. Münster District Court ordered pre-trial detention on 8 September, and the investigation is ongoing.
