Man allegedly threatened people with a utility knife in Munich

Passers-by reported at about 9:40 p.m. on 6 August that a man was allegedly threatening several people outside a property on Gotzinger Street in Munich while carrying a utility knife and a shoehorn. Officers found a 35-year-old suspect carrying both objects.

According to the investigation so far, the man allegedly struck a 52-year-old woman in the back with the shoehorn and then pushed her. She fell and suffered minor injuries. The suspect resisted officers during the operation; after officers used physical force and pepper spray, he too was treated at the scene for minor injuries. He was provisionally detained and was due to appear before an investigating judge to decide on custody.
