Taxi driver and passer-by injured in Munich knife attack

Following a loud dispute over the fare, a 40-year-old man pulled a utility knife in Munich on 26 August 2025 and injured a 65-year-old taxi driver in the abdomen. The driver had tried to hold the man after he attempted to flee. Two passers-by disarmed and restrained him; during the struggle, he made stabbing motions. A 20-year-old passer-by sustained a minimal cut to the cheek, while the other remained uninjured. The taxi driver received inpatient hospital treatment and was not in danger of death. Officers provisionally arrested the man and released him again after police measures were completed.
