Woman injured in knife attack in Munich

A woman was attacked with a knife and injured in the upper body on a pedestrian link near Grohmannstraße in Munich at about 1:40 p.m. on Tuesday. Witnesses had previously heard her calling for help and saw a man holding a knife nearby. Paramedics and an emergency doctor took her to hospital for further treatment.

Police arrested a 33-year-old suspect without resistance at the scene and secured the knife. Initial investigations indicate that the altercation may have been connected to a previous relationship between the two people. Munich criminal police are investigating under the direction of the Munich I public prosecutor's office.
