Man taken into custody after knife threat in car park

Following a dispute in the car park of a furniture store on Lürriper Straße in Mönchengladbach, a 56-year-old man is alleged to have returned to a group of people with a knife. He is alleged to have threatened the group and tried to attack a 27-year-old. The dispute followed a near collision between a car and a pram at the entrance to the car park, which was being used for a flea market on 1 May. No one was injured in a subsequent scuffle. Police overpowered the man at the scene and held him in custody until the evening; criminal investigators are examining suspected attempted dangerous bodily harm.
