Man remanded in custody after stabbing at Metzingen accommodation facility
A 25-year-old man is in pre-trial detention after allegedly stabbing a 21-year-old man in the back with a knife at an accommodation facility in Metzingen on 3 October 2026. The confrontation began in the afternoon at around 16:45, apparently over a broken washing machine: the 21-year-old and a 22-year-old first argued with the suspect and another, still unidentified man; the 22-year-old was then allegedly knocked down by a punch. The stabbing allegedly occurred when the 21-year-old went to help him. The suspect and the unidentified man fled. Both affected men later went to the Metzingen police station, where officers gave the stabbed man initial care before an ambulance took both to hospital. That evening, the 25-year-old went to police in Esslingen to file a complaint himself and was arrested. A judge ordered pre-trial detention on Sunday, and prosecutors and criminal investigators are investigating suspected attempted homicide.
