Man accused of threatening train passenger with machete

An unidentified man is accused of trying to force a passenger to hand over a mobile phone while displaying a long machete on a regional train between Parchim and Neustadt-Glewe at about 7:50 p.m. on 3 February. The passenger locked himself in a train toilet, preventing the attempt. The suspect allegedly then pulled the emergency brake and discharged a fire extinguisher. The released gases caused breathing problems among the passengers. Federal police are searching for the man.
