Mannheim suspect remanded after knife threat
A 40-year-old man allegedly sprayed a shop assistant in the face with pepper spray at a graffiti and pyrotechnics shop in Mannheim's Quadrate district on 27 April. Police said the shop assistant suffered pain and eye irritation. As he left the shop, the suspect allegedly said that he would put a knife into the shop assistant's neck next time. The man was arrested on 5 May. An investigating judge ordered him remanded in custody the following day at the prosecutor's request; the investigation is ongoing.
