Man arrested after attack with broken glass bottle in Mainz
At about 23:58 on the night of 17 January, two men became involved in a physical altercation on Bahnhofstraße in Mainz. According to initial witness accounts, a broken glass bottle was allegedly used. The 24-year-old victim suffered cuts and was taken to hospital for medical treatment; the injuries were not considered life-threatening based on the information available.
The 19-year-old suspect initially fled towards the main railway station but was arrested there by officers. Tram services at the station forecourt were briefly disrupted during the operation. Investigators are examining the background to the altercation.
