Carer critically injured with knife in Hamburg
On 17 January, a man is alleged to have suddenly attacked his carer with a knife at a residential facility in Hamburg-Lokstedt, causing life-threatening injuries. Another employee alerted police. The injured man received treatment at the scene, was taken to hospital and underwent surgery; police later said he was no longer in danger.
Officers arrested the suspect at the scene. A judge issued a detention order, while the homicide unit continues its investigation in coordination with prosecutors.
