Man injured in knife attack at Mainz central station
A 24-year-old man was injured with a knife on the forecourt of Mainz central station at about 10:10 p.m. on 22 September. According to a witness, an unidentified man approached the victim and his companion. Following a brief verbal argument, the attacker allegedly pulled a knife and injured the man with it.
Police said the injuries were not life-threatening. The victim was taken to the emergency department of Mainz University Hospital for further treatment. The suspect fled towards Münsterplatz and was not found despite an immediate search.
