Man confronts police officers with knife in Ludwigshafen

On 2 May, police officers were called to an apartment in central Ludwigshafen over a domestic dispute. The later suspect opened the door and confronted them while holding a knife. Officers threatened to use a Taser and a firearm but did not need to deploy either. Police said the man resisted strongly when officers restrained him, causing some officers to sustain minor injuries. He was taken into custody. Criminal proceedings have been initiated against him, including on suspicion of resisting enforcement officers.
