Man seriously injured in suspected knife attack in Leverkusen
A 29-year-old man was seriously injured during an altercation on Lützenkirchener Straße in Leverkusen on the evening of 4 July. Emergency crews took him to hospital with a stab wound to the upper body; police said he was not believed to be in danger of death at the time. At about 18:50, he and his partner had become involved in a dispute with a group near Opladen railway station. A witness said that men from the group may have attacked the 29-year-old with several knives. Two suspected participants were provisionally detained and later released, while at least one further suspect fled. Investigations on suspicion of dangerous bodily harm are continuing.
