Man seriously injured in knife attack in Lentföhrden

A 49-year-old man was seriously injured in Lentföhrden on 23 January after several unidentified people allegedly attacked him. Police were called to Weddelbrooker Straße at 7:54 p.m.; the man had stab wounds and other significant injuries and was taken to hospital by ambulance. Doctors initially could not rule out a danger to his life. Investigators believe the attack may have happened during the roughly 20 minutes before the emergency call, near a discount store on Schmalfelder Straße. The attackers are alleged to have stabbed the man with at least one knife before apparently fleeing in a Mercedes with Hamburg registration plates. The initial search produced no result, and the background to the attack remains under investigation.
