Man stabs another man during dispute outside Leinfelden-Echterdingen snack bar

A dispute outside a snack bar on Hauptstraße in Echterdingen escalated on Friday evening. Police said a 31-year-old man had first struck the glass entrance door with a vacuum-cleaner pipe. When the 51-year-old operator tried to take the object from him, the two men became involved in a scuffle. During it, the 31-year-old allegedly stabbed the other man in the thigh with a kitchen knife he was carrying. The 51-year-old then struck him on the back of the head with the pipe. Passers-by and a witness separated the men, and both were taken to hospital with injuries. Following outpatient treatment, the 31-year-old was admitted to a psychiatric clinic.
