Man in Cologne allegedly injured another man with knife

A 43-year-old man is alleged to have injured a 36-year-old man with a knife in Cologne-Mülheim on Monday afternoon. Police officers and municipal public-order staff encountered the man outside a restaurant holding an open folding knife in his raised hand. After he threw the knife to the ground, he was taken to the ground and restrained. The 36-year-old had a heavily bleeding cut below his right shoulder and was treated by emergency services before being taken to hospital. Police are investigating on suspicion of dangerous bodily harm; the background to the altercation remains unclear.
