Man arrested after life-threatening knife stabbing in Cologne

Near Cologne's Neumarkt square on 27 April, a 28-year-old man is alleged to have inflicted a life-threatening knife wound to a 44-year-old man's neck. The injured man received intensive medical treatment and later left hospital on his own. The suspect fled after the incident. Police arrested him on 13 May after prosecutors obtained a warrant on suspicion of attempted manslaughter. The investigation into the motive is ongoing.
