Pre-trial detention after alleged knife extortion in Kempten

A 22-year-old is alleged to have held a knife to an 18-year-old's neck in Kempten in mid-April, threatened to kill him and forced him to hand over 5,000 euros in cash. Police said the two had met near Calgeer- and Wiesstraße for a drug deal that allegedly escalated. Following information about the suspect's identity, he was arrested in Sonthofen and brought before an investigating judge. The judge ordered pre-trial detention, and alleged narcotics-law offences are also being examined.
