Woman allegedly tried to attack officers with pocketknife in Kaufbeuren
At a supermarket on Augsburger Straße in Kaufbeuren on the morning of 19 October 2026, a 26-year-old woman allegedly tried to attack police officers with an opened pocketknife. The officers had taken possession of goods worth €36.80 following a shoplifting incident; she demanded the return of the stolen cigarettes, among other items. Officers restrained her, and emergency medical personnel subsequently took her to a specialist clinic. No one was injured. Criminal proceedings were initiated against her, including for assaulting law-enforcement officers and theft while carrying a weapon.
