Man critically injured with knife during dispute in Kassel

A 43-year-old man was critically injured with a knife during a dispute on a street outside a residential facility in Kassel-Bettenhausen on Friday. According to police, he and a 28-year-old man who knew him had previously been out together and consumed alcohol. The 28-year-old allegedly fled after the altercation.

The victim was taken to hospital and admitted as an inpatient; police said he is no longer believed to be in danger of dying. The 28-year-old was arrested in Kassel that afternoon and is in pre-trial detention following a detention order. He is under investigation on suspicion of attempted manslaughter.
