Inmate injured in knife attack in Amberg
An altercation between two inmates occurred at Amberg prison at about 2:00 p.m. on 1 May. A 23-year-old inmate is alleged to have attacked a 29-year-old fellow prisoner with a bread knife. The victim suffered several cuts and received medical treatment at the facility; police said there was no danger to life. Other inmates disarmed the suspect and prevented further attacks. Criminal police are investigating on suspicion of dangerous bodily harm.
