Taxi driver seriously injured in suspected robbery in Karlsruhe
A 61-year-old taxi driver was seriously injured during a suspected robbery near Hengstplatz in Karlsruhe-Durlach on the night leading into 15 October 2026. Investigators say a 21-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman first asked him to change some money. The man allegedly reached for the driver's wallet and injured him with a sharp object, while the woman allegedly assisted him. Acting on a witness tip, police provisionally detained both suspects near Durlach railway station early on 17 October. A judge ordered both held in pre-trial detention later that day.
