33-year-old reaches for knife while being restrained
A 33-year-old man is alleged to have stolen several perfumes from a drugstore on Kaiserstraße in Karlsruhe on Wednesday evening. When witnesses restrained him as he left the shop, he allegedly resisted physically and reached for a knife carried at his waistband. One witness prevented him from doing so. Police say he continued to resist when officers arrived, made threats and insults, and tried to kick the officers. The witnesses and officers were unhurt. Following his provisional arrest, a judge ordered him held in pre-trial detention.
