Man threatens residents with kitchen knife in Jena
A 41-year-old man is alleged to have threatened residents with a long kitchen knife in an apartment building in Jena's Lichtenhain district on the morning of 24 May 2025. According to a caller, the man walked through the building holding the knife and confronted him in a threatening manner, but did not use the blade. Police officers subdued the man, and the knife was later found outside the building. Nobody was injured. As the man was in a psychological crisis, he was taken under police escort to a psychiatric facility in Jena.
