Man provisionally arrested after neck stabbing in Garbsen

On 24 May, a 44-year-old resident of an apartment building in Garbsen was seriously injured after opening his apartment door. According to police, a man entered the building at about 05:00 by unknown means, knocked on several apartment doors and stabbed the resident in the neck with a knife-like object. The injured man was taken to hospital and was not in life-threatening condition. The attacker initially fled but turned himself in to police while the search was under way. The 41-year-old suspect was provisionally arrested and was due to appear before a judge; police are investigating attempted manslaughter.
