Attempted knife robbery after venue visit in Jena
A 38-year-old man was allegedly targeted in an attempted robbery on Johannisstraße in Jena early on Thursday after visiting a dance venue. One member of a group of three allegedly demanded cash, drew a knife and held it in a threatening manner.
As police had already been alerted, the group attempted to leave when officers approached. Officers found the three people nearby and recovered the knife from the alleged 22-year-old main offender. He was provisionally detained on instructions from prosecutors, while criminal police appealed for witnesses.
