Man remanded in custody after suspected knife attack in Heidenheim

A 30-year-old woman was seriously injured by several superficial stab wounds in an apartment on Felsenstraße in Heidenheim on Monday evening. According to police, a 21-year-old man called at around 7.15 pm and said that he had injured the woman with a knife.

Officers later arrested the suspect near the car park by the Lokschuppen at the railway station. Emergency personnel found the injured woman in the apartment and took her to hospital; her life was not in danger. A kitchen knife was seized from the accused man. At the prosecutor's request, a judge ordered his remand in custody on urgent suspicion of attempted manslaughter. The investigation is continuing.
