Man threatens traveller with knife after assault at Heidelberg Central Station
On 26 February, a 44-year-old man attacked a 33-year-old man following a verbal dispute in the pedestrian overpass at Heidelberg Central Station. He punched and kicked the man in the face and abdomen before travellers initially stopped the assault. The suspect then took a knife from his shoe and threatened the victim with it. The victim fled towards the station forecourt and the suspect followed him. Police arrested the man at a bus stop outside the station and seized the knife. Because of his mental condition, he was taken to a specialist clinic; criminal complaints, including for dangerous bodily harm and threats, were announced.
