Armed duo fails in attempted petrol station robbery in Hanover

Two offenders armed with knives allegedly entered the sales area of a petrol station on Vahrenwalder Straße in Hanover at about 07:10 on 3 February to rob it. The 54-year-old operator raised a wooden slat from behind the counter, prompting both men to flee without any proceeds. No one was injured. Police first detained an 18-year-old suspected offender and shortly afterwards his minor accomplice. The 18-year-old was remanded in custody, while the minor was released after police measures were completed. Investigators are examining possible links to further petrol station robberies.
