Man threatens passers-by with knife in Hanau
A 38-year-old man allegedly threatened a man and later a woman with a knife in Hanau-Mittelbuchen on 12 January. Investigators said he made swinging and stabbing motions towards the passers-by. Police searched for the man and later found him in the Wachenbuchen district of Maintal. During the subsequent operation, he was seriously injured by police gunfire and was then receiving intensive medical treatment; no other people were injured. Investigations include suspected threats and attempted homicide.
