20-year-old suffers life-threatening stab wound in Hamm attack
A 20-year-old man suffered a life-threatening stab wound to his leg during an attack in Hamm at around 3 a.m. on Thursday. He was found outside a hospital and, according to initial findings, had apparently made his own way there. After surgery, he was no longer in life-threatening condition later that morning. About an hour before the attack, he had been involved in a dispute among several people nearby; police checked those involved and ordered them to leave. Investigators are examining whether the incidents are connected. The number of attackers is unknown. Police and prosecutors are investigating suspected attempted homicide, and a homicide unit has been set up. The object that caused the stab wound has not been identified.
