Man critically injured in Hamburg stabbing

A 51-year-old man sustained life-threatening injuries from stab wounds during a confrontation in Hamburg-St. Georg overnight into 8 August. According to current findings, he became involved in a physical altercation with an unknown man near August-Bebel-Park between 1:15 a.m. and 2 a.m.; the confrontation is believed to have moved towards Repsoldstraße. Shortly afterwards, the injured man told his companion that he had been stabbed. Emergency services took him to hospital with life-threatening upper-body injuries, although he is now reported to be out of danger. The search for the suspected attacker has so far been unsuccessful, and homicide investigators and prosecutors continue to investigate.
